JInstant (“JInstant”, “we”, “us”) provides free, temporary Joomla test sites. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect through our website and service (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the JInstant marketing site, account system, and test-site dashboard, but not to any third-party websites we link to.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign up or request a magic sign-in link, we collect your email address. If you create a password, it is sent directly to our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form — we never see or store your plain-text password.
- Test site content. Anything you upload to or create inside a test site — Joomla extensions, templates, packages, configuration, and test content — is processed to run your test site. This content is temporary and is destroyed when the test site expires.
- Communications. If you contact us by email, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and log data. Like most online services, we record technical information when you use the Service, such as the actions you take, the test sites you create, and timestamps.
- Device and connection data. We collect your IP address and basic browser and device information. We use your IP address to operate the Service securely — for example, to apply rate limits and prevent abuse of test-site creation.
- Cookies. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies. See “Cookies” below.
Bot protection — Cloudflare Turnstile
To protect our sign-up, login, and test-site-creation forms from bots and automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile runs a lightweight verification in your browser and may collect information about your device and session — including your IP address, browser and operating-system characteristics, and interaction signals — in order to distinguish human visitors from automated traffic. Turnstile may run in an invisible mode that requires no action from you.
As required by Cloudflare, we reference Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum, which describes how Cloudflare processes information collected through Turnstile. Cloudflare has stated that Turnstile data is not used to train AI models, is not used for cross-site tracking, and that any personal data it collects is not sold.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in.
- To provision, run, and clean up your temporary Joomla test sites.
- To secure the Service — detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and automated attacks, and enforcing rate limits.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can maintain and improve it.
- To respond to your requests and send you essential service messages, such as sign-in links and account notices.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where data-protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract to provide the Service you request; our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the Service (balanced against your rights and freedoms); your consent where we ask for it; and compliance with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:
- Authentication and database — our backend provider stores your account record and powers sign-in.
- Bot protection, DNS, and content delivery — Cloudflare, as described above.
- Hosting infrastructure — the cloud provider that runs our servers and your test sites.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Data retention
Test sites are disposable by design. Each test site and everything inside it is automatically and permanently deleted when it expires, and we do not keep backups of test-site contents. We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation or resolve disputes.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, isolated per-test-site containers, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to operate core features such as bot protection. Because these are essential to providing the Service you request, they do not require consent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Service may stop working.
International transfers
Our providers may process your information in countries other than the one you live in. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses) to protect it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
